One of my favorite “athletes” is Rob Dyrdek. This long-time skater is hilarious and used to have a hit Mtv show called Rob & Big. He’s also appeared in Righteous Kill (that shitty Pacino/De’Niro movie) and in both iterations of EA’s Skate. Well, he’s got a new show on Mtv called Fantasy Factory where he builds a skatepark/office building and tries out all his kooky ideas inside. You can grab the first episode here. Well a nice video game and television tie-in is now here so you can look forward to having the Fantasy Factory as downloadable content for Skate2! I hope I can rail slide on Drama’s face.
I haven’t been following the Big Dog Project very closely but it is pretty cool to see people building robots that can fend for themselves and actually be useful. I envision these starting out as pack mules but eventually becoming wandering propery watchdogs for the rich and of course, some sort of military version that takes another step towards a remote controlled army. Check out the latest foray for the Big Dog out in the snow. Read more »

How well can you not shit your pants??
Not very well I will bet. Try this.
If you play Call of Duty 4 or WaW online with us then you’ll totally relate to this satire video.

So unless you have been living under a rock where TF2 new does not penetrate to, you are probably fully aware the scout update to TF2 is coming next week. The TF team has been busy, robbing people of cold hard earned recession cash for Left 4 Dead, so its been a while since they updated TF2. Hey they kept us waiting for 9 years for the game who cares how long everyone waits for free content right.
Okay that is not all true, they introduced a bug into TF2 that let glitchers wield weapons with any class, so you may have for example seen a pyro carrying a medic gun outside of Garry’s Mod. Then they decided to punish people who used said exploit by removing their unlockables for a month. Thats total bullshit right there, TF2 is a fun game and there are plenty of servers out there that encourage funny behavior and may have had the entire population doing this glitch during a goof off round. Admins should police their own server, end of story and this “ban of unlockables” should at least be toggleable by admins.
So anyway, they are slowly leaking the details of the scout update day by day. Lets be real here, the scout received the most love and rehaul of any class from the QWTF to TF2 jump and was the last class that needed an update. And if the dev team doesn’t officially put one of VilePickle’s maps into TF2 at some point, well, their mapmakers are either blind or scared of being put of work, seriously.
So far from the updates we have community maps, achievement lists, the sandman, and energy drinks. Let me save you the trouble of waiting 4 days for the next updates and let you know what the rest are.
First up: Scattergun unlockable called the Force-A-Nature. How do we know this, well TF2 screenshots of the egypt map contained media blurbs, and in them it said…
“A Dustbowl-style control point map, Egypt is visually striking, full of great combat spaces, and features some really interesting uses of vertical space. Classes with the ability to ascend rapidly (Soldiers, Demomen, and Scouts using the new scattergun unlockable ) have lots of options for traversing the arenas. In addition, the ruins provide Engineers with a large number of potential sentrygun locations.”
So most likely were looking at a double barrel scattergun, that holds 2 shots at a time, and the alt fire blasts both shots at once that can be used to propel the scout up or backwards.
The second is most likely going to be a game mode involving 2 payload carts. I’m not naming sources but its pretty much reliable. Also from looking at the achievements you can tell scouts will get a crit buff for drawing first blood and the scout will have a weapon called the Force-A-Nature.
Rumors leaked a few months ago about FLOOR MASTER of Team Roomba griefing fame asking Robin Walker to put in some “SHAMWOW” audio clips for the scout and Robin said he convinced everyone it was a good idea. Hopefully we will see some of those.
I understand that Valve doesn’t need to release any of this as free for TF2 and I am glad they are doing this. The Orange Box was one of the best gaming deals ever but if they don’t release some free Left 4 Dead updates to ease my pain for wasting money on that piece of shit, well, that sours the deal the Orange Box had. It also leaves me questioning if I want to purchase the next Valve game early at full price since you know its one month until they put it on some steam sale.
I’m sure most of you have heard of Twitter before. Another of the social networking tools Twitter is basically an ongoing Facebook status updater. But it’s more than that, it’s a networking tool first and foremost. You can ‘follow’ anyone you want pretty much and see what their daily doings are. Businesses, blogs, news feeds, people they all twitter away and keep you updated on every little stupid thing they want you to know they are doing. But what I’ve found it great for is one of the same things IRC has stayed interesting for over 12 years for me, the links. With built in URL shorterners adding a link to your update is extremely simple and I find plenty of great links from very different sources daily.
You can use a third party program like TweetFeed once set-up to watch and post. Then you can go to various websites and find lists of people you may be interesting in tweeting with. There’s a few compilation sites that list people with twitter feeds, here’s the big celebrity twitter list, there’s one for game development and you can even see who’s the most popular in your city. Here’s a listing of the top twitters in Los Angeles for example. No matter what your interests are you can find Twitters in that field and begin to network with them. So take the plunge and move a step forward in social technology. Here’s a few people you can start following to begin your adventure.
- Mad: My feed, don’t expect any revelations just dumb links that usually end up here as well.
- UltraCarl: You need to be auth’ed to read what Carl had for dinner but there’s free hentai involved!
- Shaq: Yup, it’s really him and he likes to say lol alot. But he posts daily on what he’s up too.
- Major Nelson: The XBox God is the reason i got on Twitter, he posts up everything happening in XBox land including codes occasionally.
- Brian Burke: Ok, it’s not really him but it’s a much funnier version of the abrasive Toronto GM.
- Rainn Wilson: Dwight Shrute is a consistent tweeter and is actually pretty funny sometimes.
- Olivia Munn: It’s as close to the geek goddess any of us will ever get unfortunately.
- Xzibit: He isn’t very exciting and talks about his kid alot but I feel gangsta knowing whassup.
- Jimmy Fallon: The former SNLer has a new show in the works and tweets about it all.
- Cesar Millan: The Dog Whisperer himself posts about once a day with internal links.
- Kevin Rose: The founder of Digg is an every day tweeter.
- George Broussard: Sick of waiting for Duke Nukem Forever? Bug George to get that shit out!
- Jesse Jane: This pornstar tweets constantly, go through her list for all the other professional skanks out there.
- Snoop Dogg: A regular twizzle he keeps it short and actually replies to alot of people.
- Ashton Kutcher: Averages 10 tweets a day sheesh, get a job you cougar rapist.
You’ve got to see this amazing live action short film that’s based off Halflife 2.
Check out these photos.
You should always be wary of answering ads when on the internets.
Here’s a prime example…feel like getting robbed? Answer this ad then.
So I was chillin’ at a Celtics game last week…
Was vibing on way too much sugar…
The music kicked on, the camera pointed at me and…
Well, see for yourself…
Holy shit. Does this kid look old enough to be a dad?
And who plays Saints Row 2 anyways…

I am so sick of hearing all this KillZone2 hype. Sure, not many are going to get to play it being PS3 exclusive anyways but the way the pre-release reviews and the fan boys talk this is the game of the century. Ok, first of all the first KillZone sucked so why would we think this one is a big jump to FPS eliteness? I’ve played the demo and frankly I wasn’t impressed at all. And I am not the only one. Sure, some of it is pretty and it follows suit with most next gen FPS titles but in the end all I could think of was that it was a shitty version of F.E.A.R. 2. This is not the game to make you run out and buy a PS3 folks, trust me.
