As you may already know, Ht is sponsoring a fantasy pool for the hardcore sports nerds out there. We’ll be running Ht’s Ultimate Fantasy that costs $25 to enter and you’ll be playing 5 of the major sports; MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL and EPL. The winner of the $250 will be whoever scores the best overall score from all 5 pools combined. We’ll be using Yahoo for most cases. We were talking about Webzen games on the forums lately and then lo and behold we finally get to see some action from the long awaited APB MMO. An open world universe that mimics GTA/Crackdown, your goal is to either be a criminal or a cop and do what either do. The idea is sound but now seeing footage I really do question how well this will work. But, I’m not going to make presumptions until we get to try it out. Jesus H. Christ! One of the originators of drum n’ bass, Grooverider, has been prosecuted for getting busted with 2 grams of weed in Dubai. If you know anything about Dubai you’ll know that you can’t do shit there, from drinking to drugs there’s an absolute no tolerance policy. So Grooverider gets 4 years for forgetting he had some weed in his pocket meanwhile, if you kill your sister while in Dubai expect only 6 years. So cross this Arab Emirate prison camp from your vacation list, the real Jurassic Park will have to wait until they join the 21st century and get out of the dark ages.

Remember when I told you id software announced it was going to make Quake0, a free browser version of many of #hostile’s favorite game of all time, Quake 3. Well, it has since been renamed to Quake Live. Head on over to its website and enter your email (thats it) for a chance to get in beta. I install Quake 3 every time I format but I am always excited for any revival into the Q3 community
In other browser related Quake 3 news: Quake Unity (formerly PlanetQuake3/4) added steaming copies of all videos uploaded from the last few years, so you can finally stream the movie I made a few years ago. Hey, there was no youtube back then.

Video games are supposed to be fun right? They aren’t supposed to be a way to make money. They aren’t supposed to make you want to kill yourself. Then why does every game degrade into some plot to make money? Why do we keep rewarding players who spend 18 of their 24 hours a day playing it? This isn’t healthy yet the rewards always goes to the truly hardcores. Blizzard has announced competitive WoW gaming. So now, the people addicted to WoW must now get even more addicted? Way to go Blizzard, you’ve just entered into the legalized drug category.

Well, Wired is the only magazine that consistently writes enough quality content to get me to throw down some cash for. Fortunately for you, they give a lot of it away for free on the internets. That kind of makes me wonder why I pay yearly for it…. I dunno, I guess paying for ads is my thing.
