I know a bunch of us are eagerly anticipating this months release of GTA 4. While we know what’s in store for the single player open worldage it’s the multiplayer that really has our crotches sweating. The idea of being able to do a bevvy of different modes with your pals is definitely enticing. So finally someone released some info on all of the modes and what we can expect. Let’s just hope the netcode doesn’t fuck it all up ala Saint’s Row.

Over the past few weeks the Ht Ultimate Pool finally began. So #Hostile has gotten a bit mucked up with all the sports nerd banter and all the animosity created by the competition. So we decided to register a new channel to allow the sports nerds to battle it out in peace. While we’re using this channel for the pool any sports afficianado is more than welcome to idle and talk about their favorite overpaid dimwits or just come to make fun of Lox. #HostileSports on your IRC dial.

If you’re an owner of Rock Band you’ve most likely discovered the wonderful new music store that is now present. Now if you love this game then it’s definitely worth stocking up on all the great2play tunes but if you’re just a casual player steer clear as it’ll cost you big money and after dropping over 100 bones for the game and equipment you’ll be investing heavily in both of the big moguls, EA and Mtv.
But last week they did throw us a bone and gave out their first free song. Ok, a free song is nothing to crow over unless it’s the great finale song from Portal! Oh yeah, the icing on the cake of the Orange Box was a cult hit and someone noticed. In fact, the song has become a bit of a legend with people taking that shit seriously. But in the end it’s just another fuckin’ track in your Rock Band library.
Looks like the pro’s have hit up Yahoo Live.

So Cijid was nice enough to hook me up with a Battlefield Bad Company beta account for the 360. It was tough to grab it thanks to the COD4 map pack XBox rape but eventually I was able to grab the 1GB demo and try out the 2 included maps. I wasn’t much of a fan of the original Battlefield’s and am always hesitant to play an EA FPS on a console but I kept my hopes up after reading a few early reviews.
I had to admit, jumping in was very easy as it keeps the stock Battlefield class layouts but adds a nice simple FPS interface to spawn, unlock and do other things. The crust of this game is the destruction. No more running from tanks to that little hut, that hut is now going to explode into many pieces and take you out with it. There’s also a wide array of weapons to unlocks but unfortunately a bunch of them will be through purchasing through the Marketplace. All in all, the game is fun and has some action packed moments and the controls on console aren’t horrible but after playing Call of Duty 4 quite a bit it’s tough to give it top marks. As well a ton of griefing has been going on as it’s sometimes difficult to make out enemy or teammate and FF is on by default. Check out some of the footage. Read more »
If you’ve been in #Hostile at all the past week you’ve known that the Yahoo Live! rapeage has continued on and with the 4chan and Goonsquad all around the depravity just keeps on climbing. If you register on our forums you can check out all the archived titty farmings (NSFW). It’s pretty hilarious what people will do on webcams nowadays especially when 400 people are chanting you to do it. But the new star of Yahoo Live isn’t showing any skin, he’s just rocking out. So if you’ve got an XBox 360 and you’ve attempted to play online or download new content you’ve most likely had issues with it. Well, thanks to Infinity Ward releasing the Variety Map Pack (800 points/$10) for COD4 and adding double XP all weekend the servers are packed and impacting the entire network. It just goes to show this Halo killer has legs and continues to be the top console title in the past few years. Things may change come GTA 4 release but for now COD4 is still king.
What seems to be the most popular of the new maps, Creek is a very large map that has a lot of open space, a nice ravine between both bases and a number of buildings and underground tunnels to traverse. You’ll have to be careful out in the open as snipers are in love with the hills and a good sniper will be impossible to find. You can run and gun it but you’ll want to use the tunnels and lots of flashy fun.
Chinatown is a great new map as it really adds a new level of gameplay and that’s the multi-story buildings. Many buildings have up to 4 stories with windows everywhere and the streets bend all over so you really need to watch your six. It’s also very colorful and I love any city based maps as running through the streets gunning motherfuckers down is always satisfying.
Broadcast takes place in the infamous COD4 TV station level. Gun fights in the middle of the studio are always cool but most of the action takes place on the outskirts where neighboring buildings give some nice camping spots. I’ve only played it a few times but already love the additions to the main building and roof entry, it makes a great S & D level as well.
KillCreek I only saw very very briefly so no review of it can give it justice but from what I have seen, this map is a gren spammers wet dream as it’s tiny and you can loft through the roof. But this is a good thing as the current lone spam map is pretty queer and this one should take over for it. By next week all of these maps will be placed in all game modes.
