If you own a Wii then you must be aware that the Motion Plus add-on is now available. It’s packaged with Tiger Woods 10 for the Wii but don’t waste your money on EA products, just wait for Wii Resort to hit! Nintendo are the only ones who have seemed to master their own technology and this is another must buy title to go along with Wii Sports and Wii Plus.
I’m sure most of you have no interest in European Soccer, although the USA beating Spain today is pretty much the biggest day in american soccer ever. But I don’t blame you when we have other great sports here in North America why pay attention to the other side of the pond? Well, I do follow one team. Newcastle. This has been a horrible year for them as the 5th most expensive team in the Premiership (Englands top division) sucked so badly they got relegated down a league. Then they go and unveil these horrific kits for this upcoming season. Why do you care about this? You don’t, it’s just a segway into why I ran across this funny link, which has nothing to do with soccer or Newcastle and is somewhat NSFW!
I wouldn’t be doing you guys justice if I didn’t mention something about Prototype.

Everyone who has seen a glimpse of it wants to at least try it but they never know if it’s worth the purchase. It’s a fair assumption as the game only delivers a single player experience but I do have to recommend it based off the sheer fun factor you’ll end up having. Prototype was built over the past 4 years by Radical in Vancouver. They had created the last Incredible Hulk and are working on a new Spiderman so they know their way around a superhero sandbox. So this sandbox gives us three key features to enjoy. Movement, combat and stealth. These features combined with plenty of enemies leads to plenty of fun.

The story takes place in New York where a virus has broken out and the infected begin to take over the city. You play Alex Mercer and the virus treats you differently, mutating you into a very powerful beast. The military is attempting to control the virus and will stop at nothing to wipe them all out. Alex will learn about how it all went down and stop both sides if he wants. How does he do that? With a number of powers the mutation has given him. Wolverine claws, giant fists, deadly tendrils, different visions and armors and the best one of them all, the enormous blade. Combined with inhuman speed and agility and moving throughout the city is a breeze and being able to fight a zombie or a helicopter is just as easy to do as you’d think. You’ll fight tanks, helicopters and plenty of army men while also having to fend off the horde of zombies and their much more powerful Hunter brethren. The stealth portion allows you to consume anyone and steal their health, their memories and even their identity. You can use stealth to get into military bases and consume for new abilities and can use their identities to get yourself out of sticky situations.

So is it any good? The answer is yes. The game starts out easy enough and gives you plenty of points to spend on upgrades. As you improve your speed and jumping you quickly find that just moving around the city is as fun as anything you’ve done in a game. Once you start learning the combat you’ll be even more impressed as you find out that you truly are powerful and can take on legions of enemies at once without batting an eyelash. But then the difficulty ramps up and you are forced to learn how to handle multiple helicopters and hundreds of infected all bumrushing you. You’ll use stealth abilities to be able to survive these encounters. If there’s one knock on the game it’s that there’s only one mission arc going at all times with tons of side missions that only earn you more points to upgrade and don’t tie into the story much at all. But the side missions are good and fun and do break up the monotony of doing multi-stringed missions that can take some time. Using tanks and helicopters you jack to wreak havoc is an always fun endeavour however so there’s always carnage to do. All in all this is one of the most hostile games ever made so I have to recommend it.

More motherfuckin’ man babies!
I had a few people ask me about the upcoming MMO Aion.
Here’s some details on the North American release.
We’ve got 2 dumbass European women in the news this week.
Li’l Miss “I slept thru a major face tattoo” and Lady “I died twittering in the tub“.
I don’t know what this is but I love playing with it.
Ok this guy is in serious love with APB.

I don’t blame him, the game sounds fucking fantastic. That we all can just join a 100 man server, form a gang and rampage is great! But after reading that review it all still sounds too good to be true. There’s so much there to make it sound like we’re going to be getting a GTAesque MMO that you can really sink your teeth into but really all we’ve seen so far is a charactedr editor. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed they can deliver but until we all get to try it out it’s just a pipe bomb dream.
Here’s the burning question that is on all gamers minds.

The current top console FPS has released another Map Pack. Call of Duty: World@War gives us another 3 multiplayer maps and a new zombie map. After Map Pack 1 release I was really impressed with the new multiplayer level layouts and they became 3 of their best maps immediately. Unfortunately Map Pack 2 doesn’t manage to do that at all. Banzai, Corrosion and Sub Pens are all gorgeous and have some interesting ideas put in place but they just all don’t come together like they should. Banzai I still have hope for but both Corrosion and Sub Pens just haven’t impressed me yet and seem to be a lot of hunt and chase instead of great choke points that require some coordination. But really the best thing about it is that Activision has shown they are willing to be the frontrunning FPS franchise and give plenty of current content to us. Modern Warfare 2 is only 4 months away and should eclipse the treatment WaW ended up getting as the 2 studio franchise split. There’s even rumors that they are exploring the possibility of a CoD MMO to really get us all hooked on their crack. We’re still a few years away from the next generation of FPS games so enjoy the best of the best while you wait.

I’ve never been into the Sims series but I can appreciate when people build something outside of the game.
Like this couple, who explore how it is to be homeless in the Sims 3.
I’m not into Left 4 Dead, kind of sick of all these zombie invasion games already. I love a good zombie romp but it’s all getting so played out and it’s starting to de-sensitize us from the inevitable moment when it really does happen! Will you be ready? But I thought I’d have to mention this upcoming addition (NSFW) as there’s plenty in our community who do play it. As well, anytime someone goes and sets women back 30 years is fine by me!
