Got to love it when a photo catches that perfect moment.

I had recently mentioned on twitter about a FPS & RTS game that is obviously not going to hit the mark but still thought what a great idea! Well that idea has been trumped by another title called BattleSwarm. With this one it pits an FPS team versus an RTS team! Now that is interesting as the RTS team can swarm their fodder towards the FPS team in interesting ways but without actual control of each units AI so that you can guarantee the FPS team can still hold their own.

Since there’s alot of us that play CoD versions I thought this gun analysis could come in handy for those who really do put a lot into the attributes of their weapons used. I personally couldn’t care less, if I can shoot it then I can shoot it in your face and win the game and that’s all that matters.

It’s that time of year again, Fantasy Football! This year Ht is running the first year of the Hostile Dynasty pool which has 12 members from our community begin by building their franchises. Ht has been around over 13 years now which is a pretty amazing feat from something that started as a small TF clan. In that time we’ve gone through plenty of amazing donations from our admin types. Nobs and Yuans legendary pron FTP, Buri and his demos and speedstat archives, all the web servers for the 8 different websites we’ve had and of course all the bots people have donated in IRC. Nowadays our only real commodities are this website and our Ventrilo server. I don’t mind footing the bill for the site as I use it for more than just this but Gibkeeg currently hosts the Ventrilo server. For anyone who has used it; be it for Planetside, WoW or drunken chat with Lox it’d be nice if you could donate whatever you can so we can have it available when needed for everyone in our community. If you do donate please post up on the forums as I’ll also be giving a discount on the Ht shirts to those who pony up. And of course bug me for the info if you don’t have it. Thanks!

Skate 2 may be Warnings domain but I have to mention this. EA has collected what they think are their Top 10 submitted videos from the game. They are all pretty brilliant and show how much fun you can have in this sandbox. I’ve barely even touched the missions as I spend hours crashing into things and trying to break as many bones as possible. But these are just epically out of reach of my meager skills.

I do believe that the evolution of reality shows is going to continue to take us into darker territories, into a phase where we as humans cross the line. It’s an inevitable human nature to push the envelope to find the boundaries of whatever topic we’re fixated with and this will be no different. For those who have seen the movie The Running Man, Death Race or the upcoming thriller Gamer you’ll understand the absurd nature of the plot where a maniacal warden risks his prisoners lives by having them participate in a deathly game show. It’s a pretty ludicrous template but why is it so far fetched? We can watch people 24/7 already, almost every reality show has competitions that can be mildly dangerous, the most entertaining contestants are the most annoying and evil ones and of course the fact every reality show craves attention more than a hungry newborn shows that it is going to deteriorate at an alarming pace. Throw in that this planet will need population control in the next 100 years as we run out of resources and expand in biblical proportions and it’s clear to see we could one day compete to live or die. Maybe it’d be something like this.

So are you a fan of Shark Week? Of course you are.

You can watch them devour anything in sight, look menacing and just generally be bad ass but can you handle the aftermath?

I don’t know what you kids do for music these days, I’ve been using The Hype Machine to find stuff on blogs but I know people like a more diverse array of ways to get music. Besides torrents for albums or iTunes for singles there’s a new player on the scene, Spotify. People are raving about it and finding ways to register no matter where you live. But, if I can’t download I’m not interested no matter how much shit you got to stream.
