Yesterday warning had mentioned watching alot of television. I would be too right now if I were you as a bunch of great shows have had leaked pre-air’s out and there’s a few good new shows coming up. Bust out your favorite torrent client and grab these ASAP.
Weeds
One of the best shows out there is about to start their third season next week. But like last year, the first 4 episodes have been floating around already for your viewing pleasure. Agrestic rules.
Dexter
Dexter (the gay brother from Six Feet Under) is the serial killing killer and he’s back and ready to bathe in more blood. Catch the first episode of the second season before it airs this month.
Californication
Fox Mulder…err David Duchovny stars in this very interesting Showtime premiere with the womanizing Duchovny having to juggle his stud life against his daughter and ex-wife. Catch the first leaked episode and see what you think before it airs next week.
Big Love
I recently got into this show and caught up to the mid range of the 2nd season where it is now on Monday nights (that’s tonight btw). The last episode has been the best of the bunch from this intriguing look at Bill Paxton as a polygamist trying to fit into society and juggle his 3 wives. As with most HBO shows, very well done and always entertaining.
The Hills
I’m sure you won’t admit to watching it but don’t lie you love all the drama and all the headgames goin’ on. The new season starts next week and although no pre-air’s are out you can catch-up on last season. The road through any girls heart goes through the Hills.
Although it’s been a slow month in XBox 360 land you’ll be pleasantly satisfied over the next couple months with some big name games being released and more great Arcade titles on the way. Here’s some tidbits on the only console worth owning atm.

So I have been watching a lot of TV lately, and I just can’t fucking stand how every network show is a carbon copy of another, and it seems the shittier ones become the most popular. Seen Ice Road Tuckers yet? Well, if you have seen Deadliest Catch you pretty much have.
How about Man vs Wild, its like SurvivorMan only gay. You know Les Stroud keeps its real, he is totally open about how he plans his episodes and meets with locals to learn the land before each adventure. How does a camera crew work on a survival show anyway, Bear Grylls? Les lugs that shit around by hand. Even without the whole hear say on how Man vs Wild is staged, Bear is crazy, Les is legit. A fine example, I noticed, was in an episode of Man vs Wild, Bear is needlessly scaling some mountain he could walk around, and stumbles upon a snake. So he calls his cameraman over, grabs a stick, and proceeds to poke at the snake with the stick and talk about how exceptionally dangerous it is. Then he puts the snake down and moves along (to his motel room). In SurvivorMan, Les is building a hut out of mud and sticks for the night, when he stumbles upon a rattlesnake. Like any normal person, Les yells “Holy Shit”, but then quickly beats the hell out of it with a log, and cooks it for dinner.

Here I am sitting at home during day 2 of BlizzCon. I am too damn tired to go early in the morning but I’ll be heading out soon enough, probably around 1PM or something. Anyhow let me tell you about my adventures in the wonderful world of Blizzard. Lots of things to do if you love Blizzard stuff, especially if you have money. You could watch the Koreans beat on each other all day in StarCraft tournaments or people from around the world beat each other in WarCraft 3 tournaments. Stand in line to hit up the BlizzCon store where you can purchase all sorts of Blizzard merchandise as well as stand in line to be able to play Wrath of the Lich King and StarCraft 2.
If you are a StarCraft fanatic (me!) then you can whore yourself out to StarCraft 2 all day long, the only limitation is that the matches are set to a 20 minute time limit. I played just once yesterday but when I head back today that’s pretty much all I will be doing until the concert begins. I can tell you right now the game is fucking SOLID. The only thing left to do is balance everyone out and unveil the Zerg units. The line for StarCraft 2 looked brutal at first, but after standing in it for a bit I noticed that it just kept flowing. It was not a mismanaged line at all, what they could have done instead is to load up more rows of PC’s just so more people can hop on at the same time. About the lines, there were two of them. One line was for playing with other people, mainly in a 2 on 2 fashion. The other line was for “single player” where if you are alone with don’t have any friends there, you get to battle it out against the game AI (aka Computer player).
I have yet to stand in the Wrath of the Lich King line, I don’t know if I want to even do that. But I did go around taking pictures of the convention if you want to view those. I have resized them all to 1024×768 so the WordPress can make a thumbnail, it doesn’t want to make a thumbnail if its in my original size of 2048×1536 and I don’t feel like rifling through to make little thumbs for all of them. Well this is it, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars finally has an official release date. The date itself makes my wallet cry foul play and myself very sad. Why? Well shit, it is the month of October. Team Fortress 2 (Actually the HL2: Episode 2 Orange Box) is being released in October as well as a bunch of other things I want to buy.

Apparently the original 2 1/2 year wait for World of Warcraft‘s first expansion, The Burning Crusade, was a one-time deal as Blizzard is wasting no time with their official announcement today of Wrath of the Lich King, their second expansion for, what is currently, the most popular MMORPG around.
Highlights include the introduction of the Death Knight hero class, a new continent – Northrend, Siege Weapons in PVP, an epic new Land Mount, and New Hairstyles. Not sure about you, but when Hairstyles are one of your major bullet-points for marketing, perhaps you need some more solid content…

As promised, QuakeWars Public Beta opened today at QuakeCon. If you are not already in the beta, you will need to go here to get a key. Be sure you meet the minimum hardware requirements when asked or you will have to clear your cookies to try again. Once you have a key, head here for the download. Gametrailers is currently doing a series of videos, giving the run down on the history of Metroid. They did a similar retrospective with The Legend of Zelda back before Twilight Princess was released along with the Wii.
I’m not sure what sparked the interest of such a series of videos but it is always good to have, especially with the span of games Samus Aran has been in. I fully agree with this video that Super Metroid is probably the best of the series and an extremely fantastic game. One of the few games I can go back to and replay it a few times. BlizzCon is only two days away now. What is BlizzCon? It is Blizzard’s own convention focusing directly on their games. Starting this Friday, I will be able to play StarCraft 2 before majority of you motherfuckers out there. Of course I will have pictures and all that other stuff that generally accompanies conventions. Lots of swag will be acquired while attending including some beta key and a MURLOC SUIT.
If anyone wants to meet up down there at the Anaheim Convention Center, toss me a line and lets kick it. Conventions are always more interesting in groups. Seeing that I can’t bring a laptop into the convention center, I won’t be making direct posts as the day goes on. You will all have to wait until the end of the day for a cool update.
