I’m not going to pretend I know anything about Eve Online, I have only watched other addicts fly around in their little spaceships hellbent on universal domination. But I have heard of the depths of the subterfuge that occurs in this game and how guilds really need to coordinate to get shit done. With the Goonsquad always causing problems, devs selling blueprints and Titans getting blown up it does sound like fun. But we’ll leave the fun to Gunny and his ship the SS Concentration Camp.
Finally, we get to see what’s going on gameplay wise with TF2! From the Leipzig Convention comes some video of the red and blue team in action, using pretty much every class. So there’s alot to digest but so much to look forward to. Seeing a sniper like it was originally, the spy with the cigarette case, soldier battles and the new layout for Well6 is all well and good but until I get to try it it’s nothing!! So yeah, gimme some beta Valve!
So if you have been on IRC lately you’ve probably heard me talking about how addicted to skate I am. If you enjoy skateboarding in any fashion, videos, X-Games, getting out there and shredding it up yourself, you will be a fan.
The first thing everyone thinks is, is it better than Tony Hawk? Well, there are two different ends of the video skating game spectrum now. It is like comparing Burnout to Forza. You have your sim and your arcade. They are both good.
What makes skate unique is it all physics based. If you want to grind a rail, you need to line it up, jump to the correct height, and get your board to land on the rail. There’s no more grind button. Also setting it apart from Tony Hawk is flickit controls. Instead of ollieing in the air, then pressing a button combination to perform a flip trick, you bring back the right stick and then flick the stick to do a trick. Here is a breakdown of the flickit controls.
It has a really nice replay editor and you will be able to upload videos to the web right from the game, this feature is being called skate.Reel. Reel is going to tie into your friends list to make sharing your media in game with your buddies very easy. Right now, like most things EA it is very buggy, and was the reason for the demos delay. Some people have it working, and can link you right to their reel footage on EA’s site, unfortunately I am not one of those people. The speed of Moto GP is amazing. That is one sport that takes balls. With bikes always improving it’s going to be scary how fast you can kill yourself. Click the jump to watch one of the craziest crashes in a long time. Think I will pick up Moto GP ’07 just to re-enact that.
I personally don’t follow baseball, there’s so many superior sports out there that deserve my attention instead. Especially with all the steroid issues (which are only going to get worse) it’s hard to take it seriously anymore. But one thing it does have going for it is over a 100 years of records. Today one of the bigger ones occurred with the last placed Texas Rangers scoring 30 runs in one game! Hell, they were losing 3-0 and ‘rallied’ for the 30-3 win which hasn’t been done since 1900.
So the TF2 video that focuses on the soldier class has finally been released. It’s a fun quirky look at the class with some great gib moments and some funny NIS (non interactive sequences) but really, how much of it is actual gameplay? From the look of it, it is gameplay but with a free cam in use. But I could be wrong. Either way, October can’t come soon enough!!

So I’m reading the daily gaming news, seeing what’s goin’ on in the world of nerdfighting and I stumble upon an article about Mia Rose, one of the hoes from Whores of Warcraft, who has been banned from the popular MMORPG for her obvious whoredom. The article details her battle with the mighty internetineers and really is completely insignificant in the grand scheme of things to me. But then, at the end of the article is this editors note:
