So tomorrow is another release day for games. On the 360 front there’s a few gems finally being released. SKATE will finally be out along with a new demo on XBLM called Proving Grounds. Oblivion will also have a new release with the full game and Shivering Isles included. Fatal Inertia also is being released, you can try the demo out before you pick it up. Last, but certainly not least, both of the NHL titles (Segas 2k8 and EAs ’08) will do battle. I know around #Hostile there’s plenty of EA fans but I know I’ll be picking up 2k8 and be battling for the top of the leaderboard. Come challenge me if you dare!
On the arcade side the classic Sonic the Hedgehog will be out Wednesday for 400 points, expansion packs for Band of Bugs and Bomberman Live and don’t forget that tomorrow there will be XBox Live downtime from 2pm till 6pm PST.
Ugh, Mondays are so ridiculously mundane. But they are unavoidable so to make the best of them I’ve found that seeing what’s new for the week is something to get jazzed for. So, let’s start with the very entertaining teaser trailer for the upcoming movie Iron Man. Hmm, they seem to really be milking that Sabbath song.
There’s also a teaser trailer for the sequel to Batman Begins with Heath Ledger as the weirdo Joker but this trailer for Dark Knight is a total tease and what do we do with teases?! Kick ‘em to the curb!

Well today was the 1st day of the NFL season with a bevvy of games to digest. So of course #Hostile is nothing but football talk. So to do a favor to all the WoW nerds who want to talk about power leveling each other under the blankets I’ll do you a solid and pass out some links to keep the football fanatics busy.
First, you need to be able to watch all the games right? Well here’s a site to find all the current stream locations. Nowadays you can watch any sport you want over the net, I know all the euro football lovers watch all the soccer games this way.
Second, you’ll need to register at You Be The QB, which is currently in beta and allows you to basically play along with predictions of each play on the game you are watching on TV. Climb the ranks and prove you know wtf you’re talking about.
Third, you need to be keeping up to date with all your fantasy teams every second that Madden flaps his jowls. Watching your QB gain, then lose points is about as painful as trying to shit out that roll of quarters you accidentally ate last night.
Fourth, you need to lose your paycheck on betting on every game, every spread and every stat.
Or else you aren’t hardcore.
At all.
Finally, if that doesn’t give you enough to keep you busy on NFL Sundays and MNF then all I can give you is this commercial, which in my opinion, is one of the best sports commercials of all time.
DivX/XviD Streaming Coming to 360
Free HDTV Movies? Yes please.
It is official. Media Center will release a new Extender that will allow HDTV streaming of DivX/Xvid to the 360. No more trans coding or converting to WMV! I might actually decommission my original Xbox. If you don’t have XP Media Center Edition or Vista Ultimate you may want to make plans to switch to take advantage of this upcoming functionality.
Altho, I have many troubles getting media sharing to work between my PC and 360 when I run XP Pro, I just gave Vista a go and getting the 360 sharing my PC’s media library and connecting the Media Center Extender took less than 5 minutes.
The boys over at Valve are promising a big announcement next week in regards to TF2 (ummm…BETA TEST?). They also have announced that the next ‘Meet the’ video will focus on the engineer and a few new screenshots are up there so all you engy weirdos can rejoice. Spanner kills ftw.
One of the upcoming games that shows promise is Hellgate: London. I don’t know a ton about it as the only person in the clan who’s in the beta being Bucky, but I do know it’s some sort of a co-op MMO style zombie Diablo clicker thrasher. Sounds good to me! This will also be one of the first games to offer lifetime membership for its subscription. Sounds dumb right? Well, that’s if you’re not aware that Hellgate: London is just one city and their development plan if the game is a success is to then create different cities and hopefully, your lifetime membership carries over. At any rate this game is due out on Halloween so pre-order or be left for dead!
If you are extremely bored on Sunday then head over to Shack’s Trailer Park and watch some of the newest HD trailers for all the upcoming games. If that doesn’t satisfy you then what about the announcement that on September 10th the Quake Wars demo for PC will be released? Yeah didn’t think so, since most of us have played the beta and already know Quake Wars is just laggy BF set in the Quake world we’re not chompin’ at the bit waiting for this one. Now add a Strogg team to Madden and I am in!
