Mirror Mirror Through The Wall
The Ht FFL league has finally finished up Week 5 and are now 1/3 of the way through the fantasy league season. Looking at the results and its not a pretty picture. Hell, Lox lost his first game with his auto-draft team. I was really hoping to pull off a win this week against Speedy but he overcame a 50 point difference with two players and beat me by 5 points. Rina posted the Meet The Demoman video earlier and it’s pretty hilarious. Scottish black man though?! What is this, Formula 51 inspired?? At any rate, as much as I like these videos they keep giving us false hope. I saw grenades BOUNCE on the ground and then hit their targets. Well for my fellow spammomen you’ll know this was taken out rendering demomen only really useful with their pipes now. So stop teasing us Valve or I will pipejump down there and detpak your office!

I’m all about raping music blogs for MP3’s. The online community is always as up to date as humanly possible and combined with the use of the Hype Machine I can find a lot of great remixes and tracks I wouldn’t be able to find with the p2p programs. My favorite of the bunch has to be Palms Out Sounds who don’t do a lot of updates but have a Remix Sunday feature I always grab. Well lo and behold now they zip up the entire week‘s worth of remixes for all to enjoy! So head over and see if it’s your cup o’ tea little ones.
I know only Alc seems to appreciate arcade games nowadays on console. We all have to hear of his Pacman C.E. exploits and he’s always challenging someone to a high score-off in one of these welfare games so thought I’d drop some knowledge on this weeks releases. You’ve got Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords finally coming out but it’s more expensive than any arcade game has been at 1200 points! But to offset that, there’s a free arcade game this week called Yaris and it’s free for anyone in the USA or Canada. Yes, it’s some advertising for those stupid looking cars. Also watch for a revamped Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe next week as well!

All of the previous “Meet The…” videos for Team Fortress 2 have been great and this one keeps the trend going. Nice to see they managed to get another one out prior to retail as they had promised!
On a side note, Valve posted that people who had pre-ordered Orange Box through Steam will be able to begin playing retail TF2 / Portal / Ep2 around Midnight PST tomorrow evening. Don’t forget to call in sick!
PoD: NHL Arrives!! Week of PoD’s
Children of Men premiered on the movie channels up here today. While I’m sure all us hardcore nerds have seen this movie many a time especially since there was a perfect rip of the movie out while it was in theaters, but for those who haven’t it’s one of the crowning achievements in cinema in quite a long time. There’s incredibly breathtaking scenes that had 1 take and lasted over 7 minutes with amazing things occurring throughout. Re-watch it and keep an eye for these extremely long takes while you enjoy Clive Owen rockin’ the futuristic casbah.

So there was a TF update last night (right in the middle of a scrim, thanks Valve!), Unfortunately for us most of our admins are away for the weekend! So a few of the servers won’t be playable until after the (Canadian) long weekend. But you can pop on San Jose Slaughter, West Coast Warfare or the Vile Virginian as they all have been updated. There’s a few fixes in the update but the real fix needed is for this! Whoah, weps on speed, not a good trip.
