For the idlers of #Hostile I’m sure you’ve noticed a few of us are very poker savvy. Valence has taken out Spiderman in a WSOP before, I have won a number of tournaments while stoned out of my gorge and Hojo plays religiously as his main job nowadays. Well, a bit of good news as Hojo got to the final 2 in a big Pokerstars Millions tournament where the final 2 cut the pot. So he walks away with $136,000! But for those who play poker, you’ll also know you usually get staked by someone for big tournaments and so he’ll only take 40% of his winnings and combined with american taxes, only gets 1/3rd of his original winnings. Still, that’s a years salary for some of you!
While I know most of you are already a member of the Ht Steam group, we need one more person to join to hit 100 members!! Anyone can join our public Steam group, this will allow you to find anyone in our community when they are playing TF2 without having to add everyone to your friends list.

I was going to post about how you can go and download Radiohead’s new album because it’s nice to know artists think and know what the people want and what the people want is to NOT pay for overhead to the fascist record labels. So releasing their album on their own would be risky for most artists, whereas an established band like Radiohead has no problem with it.
Looks like the move paid off BIG TIME.

CEVO is the first to launch competition for TF2. With a $1,000 grand prize for 200 teams to battle it out for there’s been alot of discussion and prepping for this tournament. With the deadline being yesterday for players to enroll with their teams you’d think they would be good to go. But nope, they went and changed the 1st round map from Dustbowl to Well. From the admin CEVO|Pipher:

While I can’t disagree with wanting to improve the play on Dustbowl there’s still other pressing matters on Well, like what to do with Sudden Death? Can you stand turtle turtle? Why doesn’t scoring factor in who holds the middle longer than the other team? Well regardless, look for Monday to decide a lot of peoples fates.

Well, all those hockey PoDs… Can you tell the NHL season started this week? With the amount of Canadians in #hostile it is no surprise the continent’s most violent team game is going to be a favorite of [Ht] and a great topic to argue about. People behind Mad’s beloved “Bobby Lou” trade to the Canucks are now calling it the worst deal in NHL history. It didn’t look that way after he gave up 4 goals on 13 shots last night. It looked more like days gone past…
Yeah, I went there.
Not only did that game show us why Marty was better deserving of the Vezina last year, it gave us another suspension worthy stick to the face. Altho Boulerice has already apologized for the hit, I have a feeling we are going to see another huge suspension coming. In case you missed the last few major cases of uncalled for hockey violence, here is a recap.
Most of the crew here already ran through Portal. Yeah, it was short, but enjoyable. Even for those of us that normally hate puzzle games. The good news is it has decent replay value. You can try for the achievements, play the bonus maps, try time attacks, wait for the community to pump out custom maps, or check out this website to learn a bit more about the storyline.

For those in ‘the know’ you’ll know Ht always supports map makers for Team Fortress. Making new maps will enhance the overall longevity of this wonderful game and since it doesn’t look like Valve has any inclination of releasing any more core maps soon we’ll just have to rely on the community to feed us all. Thankfully people have already figured out a few things and have playable maps. One of the remake maps was made by VilePickle and has a new version of his 2mach4 (now ctf_mach2). So get your download on!!
