I could give a fuck less about 90% of movies that come out. Every 3 months there is some new superhero or comic book movie that everyone (who used to be closet comic book nerds apparently) will tell you is amazing. Some even break box office records. That doesn’t mean I will watch them. I will give credit to the Dark Knight which I actually sat through, unlike most of the superhero movies, but will honestly tell you that I did not think was especially good for its hype.

Slumdog Millionaire won best picture… I thought that was about right. Now, I’m also one of the biggest Coen Brothers fans you will ever meet and in retrospect I don’t think No Country deserved last years highest honors over There Will Be Blood. But, why does no one talk about these movies the way any of these bogus superhero shits are plastered everywhere? You can’t go to any major site without seeing something on the WatchMen this week. Is it all marketing budget or what? I have only talked to maybe 2 other people who had seen Slumdog before it won best picture. With most of Northern America spending so much time on the internet it makes me wonder how the best movies made every year are often overlooked by the masses.

Anyway, let me share with you a movie coming out that I’m fairly sure is going to be piss your pants hilarious this year. Funny People (trailer). Take Happy Madison, Judd Apatow, Sandler, Rogan, Hill, and RZA…. I don’t see how this can bomb.

What I do think will bomb is Ace Ventura 3. Obviously, no Carrey here. Stop ruining peferectly good movies with shitty sequels please. Is there someone I can write to on this? Who signed off on this? Can they really think its a good idea? I will just pretend it never came out, like The Sandlot 2 and 3. On a related note, what the fuck is with Carrey? While I liked Yes Man, and loved Eternal Sunshine of the SpotLess Mind, I can’t ignore the fact that he did Fun with Dick and Jane inbetween. Did he even read the script on that one?
