One of the WoW addicts at my work told me a li’l story about this forum post.

if WoW drama makes you cringe, then don’t read on. So this top tier Alliance guild is off in whatever zone is hip and cool this month and a Legendary item drops! Now with standard top tier guilds everything is controlled via DKP, which is a point structure that rewards attendance and allows you to purchase item drops. An officer of the guild has amassed the most DKP in the entire guild and decides this extremely rare item is his as he’s been saving up. Well, the Loot Council decides to step in and awards the item to some noob member instead. Angered by the Loot Council overriding the DKP and not awarding the item to him he goes off on a tangent, goes to the guild bank, takes 200,000 gold and leaves the guild.
