So the big news around the gaming front in #Hostile is that Age of Conan is fast approaching. While we haven’t determined yet if this is the next big guild MMO for us to rape and pillage in, there’s definitely potential there. We’ll know more now as on May 1st the Open Beta will begin. If you have a FilePlanet account and are lucky enough to be one of the first 50,000 then you should be able to get an account.

If it is a game you decide to pick up then you need to decide on two things. Do you want to pre-order and do you want the collectors edition. If you pre-order then you’ll be entitled to start playing 3 days earlier than everyone else. You’ll also get 10 free days added to your free 1st month of play. Some retailers will also have actual items that you get, such as the War Mammoth or the Killer Rhino, both of which are used in PvP battles and as mounts. Another item you’ll receive is the Amazon Curved Bow which will be dealing plenty of death. If you purchase the Collector’s edition then you’ll get all the standard extras of an RPG special edition and a few in-game items. The first of which is the Ring of Acheronia which will give you an immediate XP and stamina enhancement. You’ll also receive The Drinking Cape, an item that will allow you to drink for free in any tavern in Hyboria. You’ll also get 5 free guest passes to let your friends try the game out and get them hooked.
