So if you’ve got an XBox 360 and you’ve attempted to play online or download new content you’ve most likely had issues with it. Well, thanks to Infinity Ward releasing the Variety Map Pack (800 points/$10) for COD4 and adding double XP all weekend the servers are packed and impacting the entire network. It just goes to show this Halo killer has legs and continues to be the top console title in the past few years. Things may change come GTA 4 release but for now COD4 is still king.

What seems to be the most popular of the new maps, Creek is a very large map that has a lot of open space, a nice ravine between both bases and a number of buildings and underground tunnels to traverse. You’ll have to be careful out in the open as snipers are in love with the hills and a good sniper will be impossible to find. You can run and gun it but you’ll want to use the tunnels and lots of flashy fun.

Chinatown is a great new map as it really adds a new level of gameplay and that’s the multi-story buildings. Many buildings have up to 4 stories with windows everywhere and the streets bend all over so you really need to watch your six. It’s also very colorful and I love any city based maps as running through the streets gunning motherfuckers down is always satisfying.

Broadcast takes place in the infamous COD4 TV station level. Gun fights in the middle of the studio are always cool but most of the action takes place on the outskirts where neighboring buildings give some nice camping spots. I’ve only played it a few times but already love the additions to the main building and roof entry, it makes a great S & D level as well.

KillCreek I only saw very very briefly so no review of it can give it justice but from what I have seen, this map is a gren spammers wet dream as it’s tiny and you can loft through the roof. But this is a good thing as the current lone spam map is pretty queer and this one should take over for it. By next week all of these maps will be placed in all game modes.
