Super Skyline

I don’t usually post car news, but heres an exception. Today, Nissan finally officially announced production of the GT-R. No more concepts, no more leaked pictures of a car totally covered in a bra sans the taillights and windshield on a back desert road, the real deal. Starting May 2008, for a expected $68,000 USD you can compete with Ferraris at 2/5ths the price. Anyone who has played Forza or PGR can appreciate this video of the GT-R’s ring time: 7:38.

Performance:

  • Top speed: 193 mph (311 km/h)
  • Acceleration: 0-60 in 3.5 seconds

Specifications:

  • 3.8L Twin-turbo DOHC V6 engine (VR38DETT)
  • Power: 353 kW (473 hp) @ 6,800 RPM
  • Torque: 588 N·m (434 ft·lbf) @ 3,200-5,200 RPM
  • ATTESA E-TS all wheel drive
  • 6-speed dual clutch automated manual transaxle with triple cone synchros and 3 shift modes
